When I first read about this on Twitter today, I had to check the calendar to make sure today isn’t the first of April…
“Incredulous” doesn’t even begin to describe it, but it seems that Caner, now that he has some power as president of Brewton-Parker college, is now using that power to reward his defenders. Today, it was announced that Peter Lumpkins has been named as Brewton-Parker’s new “Vice President of Communications.”

The whole Caner thing is wild but with Peter Lumpkins in the mix it becomes even more wild. Honestly, I think if one goes by the Bible whether they are Calvinist or Arminian, they should see that Caner is trouble…

Not sure ‘reliance’ on sovereignty is at issue here. The point is, Ergun Caner has been exposed as a liar and a fraud, and should be in trouble for the entire Christian community. Sadly, some are just letting him slide and/or trying to cover it up.

Funny I didn’t even see Scott’s comment until now. There’s a categorical fallacy he commits…I trust and rely on the Sovereignty of God through this situation but as you said brother, the issue is his sins, not our trust with God’s sovereignty.
