Salvation is firsthand and personal knowledge of Jesus Christ, based on “looking at him whom they pierced”, in the “finished” vision of His perfect and tranfigurative death on the cross providing man’s POINT OF CHANGE from one “born of the flesh” to another “born of the Spirit” (John 3: 1-21; 19: 30-37). The experience is deeply mysterious and immediately life-transforming requiring at least a life-time for savoring!
I would add that something happened to open the eyes of the one looking to the cross – a dead person was given life (Eph 2, Rom 3:10-11), eyes to see and ears to hear, and irresistably drawn to Christ. It is God who regenerates and the Word to the new heart of flesh, and the Word of God will never return void.
There is infinitely more on salvation which is of monumental and global significance displacing all man-made religions and theologies including Christianity (John 4: 21-26)!
Exactly like in the beginning (Creation), the redeemed adopt the very nature of the Redeemer, i.e., the IMAGE OF GOD (“life-giving breath/Spirit”) with the “cross of Christ” now in place of the “tree of life” (Gen. 2: 7-17; John 8: 21-28; Rev. 22) enhancing significantly the quality of life right here and now (John 10:10; 11: 25-26).
Based on experiential beginnings, the potential for the redeemed to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Redeemer (Jesus Christ) is endless (2 Pet. 3:18). AMEN!
