Two Questions

If I am looking for a doctrinally sound church to attend, I would ask:

“What is the Gospel that is preached?”

Considering all that is passed off as gospel by spiritual ‘con-men’, that is not the Gospel of Christ as declared in Scripture, this question is critical.

_________

The second question is for the person I have recently met who professes Christ:

“What is the Gospel that you believed?”

Considering the multiple thousands of people who attend counterfeit ‘churches’ where the pure Gospel of Christ is not preached, and where thousands ‘accept’ Christ for all the wrong reasons, this is also an important question.

_________

“Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 1Co 15:2  and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you–unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.” – 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

  1. Without personal experience of the strictly Scriptural definitions of Christ’s death and resurrection –the exclusive basis for our knowledge of God, many deceptions are accepted for the truth and the truth rejected as deception!

  2. Thanks for asking! The following are indicators of what is infinitely more!

By personal experience, I mean nothing less than first-hand VISION of Christ’s divine identity and authority, as clearly promised and fulfilled, in his perfect, transfigurative and once-and-for-all death on the cross “according to the Scriptures” (Matt. 16: 13-28; 17: 1-13; 27: 5-56; John 1:51; 5: 24-29; 6: 40; 8: 21-32; 14: 15-21).

Included are Christ’s works of baptism in the Holy Spirit in dealing effectively with conviction and forgiveness of sin, and revealing the “truth about God” in Christ’s glory (Ibid, 16: 5-15; 19: 30-37).

The other benefits are instantaneous new spiritual births (being “born again”), true and universal worship and sustainable faith, etc. (Ibid, 3: 1-21; 4: 21-26; 19: 35-37)

    God bless you!
